Shams Eugene Monteiro is an artist, yogi, musician, actor, carpenter, and ‘Lover of Love.’ Study, practice, devotion, service, and performance are the roots of his work in public school classrooms, after-school programs, sacred ceremonies, and various studios. Shams is a certified Bhakti yoga teacher, facilitator of Theatre of the Oppressed, drummer, harmonium player and singer of the sacred names. Additionally, he holds an MFA in Theatre from UCSD where he had the opportunity to engage with diverse voice and movement disciplines; practices that he integrates into his teaching. He covenants to honor the Oneness of All zher many forms and by zher many names. In his classes, all bodies, human expressions, and abilities are welcome. In his music, he hopes you will be energized, take heart, and find yourself at home in the freedom that is You.
