Tomiko “Miko” is a Nigerian-American multiple disciplinary artist with an emphasis and primary work teaching street style afrobeats dance! Afrobeat made popular by the legend Fela Kuti is a rhythmic , infectious sound that is revolutionary and recognized worldwide; Afrobeats would be the child of said genre for it is the movement and sound of the next generations. Using her life experiences and Nigerian culture, Tomiko brings to life colorful narratives of her people, ancestry, and personal story. Afrobeats is about joy, movement and story telling! How one moves is different from how another may move, but we are all storytelling through the music and our body movement!
